two toned orange marigold

A marigold from our community garden

When my DSLR broke in the spring. I sent it in for repairs. Unfortunately, it’s an older camera and parts are not as quick to ship as I hoped. The camera is still in the shop three months later. My bad for dropping the camera. Bad on Pentax for not giving an estimated ship date for the part.

The good news is that I used the absence of my camera as an excuse for an upgrade to a K-5. It’s absolutely fabulous. I’m putting it through the paces and learning where all the controls are and how to do what I need. Since it’s two models newer than than my old K20D, the controls have moved, which is a bit confusing. I’d spent many hours learning how to change settings by feel. That sped operation up and made my night photography easier. But muscle memory gets in the way when controls change. It’s worth the effort. Did I mention that the K-5 is a fabulous camera?

Anyway, this marigold came from a community garden we belong to. K and I went up to pick greens this evening and the flower came home with me.
