This plant has lived in a pot for the last year. Our spring planting got interrupted and many things are still in pots or are just now getting permanent homes. I was struck by the nice arch that the stem formed.
The flowers are Crocosmia, originally native to South Africa. For scale, the longest blossom is about an 1 1/2 inches (37mm).

One of my favourites, though I grow a redder variety. I’m sure you have many more varieties to choose from than I do as you are in a warmer clime. :)

Aah!!! This plant grows like a weed here- I am constantly pulling it out. I guess it’s the downside of living in an area with lots of winter rain, summer sunshine, and relatively mild temperatures.

That’s a beautiful flower! It sort of reminds me of freesias. Love the color!
