I’ve been playing with my new extension tubes for my closeup lens. The pollen trail on this flower caught my eye so I decided to include it for a Macro Monday shot.
Here’s a closeup of the plant’s leaves.

Nice! What lens are you using with your extension tubes? I have just ordered a set and are waiting their arrival. I am curious to see how they compare to using a reversed 50mm with my 105mm macro lens.

The lens is a 100 mm Pentax macro. It looks like the tube is giving me about 1:1.5 magnification. The lens itself goes to 1:1. All three tubes stacked go to 1:2.

Nice close-ups. Thanks for posting a comment on my blog as it led me to browse yours. You live in a very photogenic area. I have never been to Washington state and had to google Port Townsend. Nice place. I like the foggy ships from July 7. That makes getting up early worth while.

I love the creamy textures and colors. I haven’t used extension tubes in years. I use a high quality two element close up lens on either my 75-150 zoom or my 85mm prime.

Good work! The detail on the leaves and the pollen is perfection!
