Cedar Cones

I’ve been living here for 20 years and never noticed that when cedar cones first grow that they have a red tint.

Conversation

The Undertown occupies the basement below the Mt. Baker Block Building in Downtown Port Townsend. You find it by going down the stairs on Taylor Street, maybe 75 ft. north of the intersection with Water Street. The coffee shop and wine bar has many nooks and corners that are perfect for coffee and conversation. There [...]

Planting Trees

We got a great deal on some of last year’s trees at 4 Corners Nursery. Taking advantage of a beautiful spring like day and the skill of a strong helper, we got 8 trees planted on Saturday: 2 ornamental pears, 2 mountain ashes, a juniper, a cedar and 2 pines.

Spring Flowers

Pony and Princess

Sometimes you just don’t know what you’ll see in PT. I was driving over the hill on Washington Street and saw this girl dressed up as a princess and riding her pony. A bit later they were at the Haller Fountain with some other young girls gathered around.

Fort Worden Stairs

I’ve been spending a bit of time lately shooting the old gun batteries in Fort Worden. This moss covered stair leads to the top of Battery Walker, the westernmost of the gun emplacement sites.
