Chetzamoka Park was the place to be in Port Townsend on Sunday afternoon. Hundreds of people gathered there to hear a concert by the Port Townsend Summer Band. People gathered in layers. The retired crowd brought chairs and sat in front. Families tended to spread out in the shade with picnics.

Aah, the beautiful summers. We have similar events like this too in summer – lovely! It’s a great photo – wish I were there.

This photo reminds me of “Jazz at the Zoo” concerts I used to go to with my parents in summer. So much fun and always a little bit of dancing as the sun set.
Thanks for visiting my blog. :)

Everytime we’ve seen them they’ve had to perform outside the gazebo…we weren’t there Sunday but this makes for a great shot of Americana and the beautiful summer days here in PT!

People seem to be so confortable in the shade. Here it’s too hot and fires have already started everywhere… Sadly it’s the same every year!

I like your phrase “people gathered in layers.” It brings many images to mind :). This sounds like a good, easy on the budget, old-fashioned way to spend a summer afternoon!
Thanks for the visit!
