Waiting for the Parade

The Rhododendron Festival parade is our one annual parade. People take getting seats seriously. At a quarter to 7 in the morning, most of the available seats for the upper parade route were already set out and taken. The parade was at 1 pm.

Port Townsend Farmers’ Market

From the first Saturday in May until long after working outside is comfortable in the fall, Port Townsend Farmers’ Market is the place to be.  Along with farm produce, it offers crafts, locally made goods and plenty of food.

Uptown Alpenglow

Alpenglow refers to a special lighting condition that occurs when the sun, which is below the horizon casts a reddish/orange band of light on the opposite horizon. They Gave All

This memorial to the Jefferson County fallen during WW I is located on the main walkway to the County Courthouse. Those are ornamental cabbages blooming in front of the plaque.

Post Office

Unless you get up and out early, you’ll seldom see the Port Townsend Post Office without a line of cars in front of it.

Courthouse

Here we see the Jefferson County Courthouse as the sun breaks through the clouds to illuminate the clock tower.
