Not your everyday instrument

This is a Kora, a type of harp of West African origin. The musician played it during the Port Townsend Saturday Farmer’s Market. It sounds like nothing I’ve ever heard, but I kept coming back for more.

This is the 20th year for the Market. That’s hard to believe. K was on the original steering committee that started the market.

We have so many deer wandering through Port Townsend that they have become an infestation. I keep taking photos hoping for an interesting shot. This will do.

Getting a bagel at the Port Townsend Farmer's Market

The Wooden Boat Festival wasn’t the only Port Townsend venue to shoot photos of last weekend. As always there was the Farmer’s Market, Uptown. It’s obvious that I wasn’t the only one having a good time at the Market.

Wednesday Port Townsend Farmer's Market vendor trimming cauliflower

The Saturday Port Townsend Farmer’s Market is large and busy. The Wednesday Market usually has the local farmers selling produce and few craft or artisan vendors. Here we see a vendor trimming the leaves off a head of cauliflower before weighing it.

I processed the photo as black and white to emphasize the interesting texture and lines.

Port Townsend Saturday Farmer's Market is a great place to connect with friends

One place to run into people you know is Port Townsend’s Farmer’s Market. I ran into a friend who had moved back to town after over 12 years in the Bay Area. That’s on top of another half dozen conversations I had. Great place to get produce too.

As I was leaving the Port Townsend Photo Club meeting on Thursday, three people remarked on the incredible light on the church, which is four blocks from the Community Center where we hold our meetings. I rushed over to grab a couple of shots.
