Kayakers

Between Water Street and the Bay, you can rent Kayaks, either by the hour or as part of a guided tour. These two paddlers are in front of the new Northwest Maritime Center.

Wooden Boat Show Sail Out

At the end of the Wooden Boat show most of the boat owners sail, or motor out into Port Townsend Bay for a last goodbye. It’s always a good display.

Fort Worden Bunker

This is one of the old artillery bunkers facing the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Fort Worden, which was one of three forts built around the mouth of Puget Sound to deny access to potential enemy ships.

Windsurfer

The guy and a buddy spent a bit over an hour cruising around Port Townsend Bay. Here he’s coming back to shore just west of the Boat Haven.

Loaded for fun

Miles of trails and easy access to great sea kayaking seems to have brought these tourists.

Upstage Restaurant & PT Cyclery

The Upstage Restaurant is Port Townsend’s closest thing to a nightclub. The owner brings in some top quality jazz and blues groups and soloists. Some are local, some on national tours.
