Rainy Day

Rainy Day Tuesday

After a couple of months with basically no rain, we got our share on Tuesday. There was a good wind to accompany it and temperatures may or may not have reached 60˚ (F). It was actually kind of refreshing, though I’m not sure that the tourists agree.

Watching the Sunset

Watching the sunset at North Beach

Every time we have a nice sunset, locals bundle up and head to North Beach to watch it. I keep telling myself that I won’t take yet another photo out there. I’ve done pretty well this year keeping to that – but I gave in. I did. I admit it. I succumbed to the temptation and took some photos. Maybe next time I’ll be stronger.

This is a Skywatch Friday post.

Anderson Lake

Anderson Lake

Anderson Lake

East Jefferson County hosts a number of small lakes. This is Anderson Lake, which lies a few miles southeast of Port Hadlock. In most years it is popular with trout fishermen and picnickers. This year, the lake is closed due to a high algae content.

Footsteps in the Sand

Port Townsend North Beach

Low tide on North Beach

One way to beat the heat is to walk on North Beach. As a breeze almost always blows onto the beach off the 55 degree Strait of Juan de Fuca, we have a built in air conditioner. Add sea fog and we actually had to wear jackets on our mid-day walk.

Loving Summer on North Beach

Saturday on North Beach at low tide

The tide’s out. The sun’s out. What more could you ask from a Saturday in Port Townsend?

Summer Camp Fund Raiser

Puppet Show for Summer Camp Money

One enterprising young lady has set up a puppet show along Water Street. She started telling a story but people kept coming up to ask about her setup. So, we had an opportunity to engage a puppet in conversation. I hope she makes her goal. I left a couple of dollars.

Loading the Ferry
