Road Work on Sims Way
For the last few months the main road into town, Sims Way, has been the victim of road crews. Traffic generally has to wait to get through on one lane as the workers put new utilities under the surface, add sidewalks and resurface the road.

Pony and Princess on Washington Street
Sometimes you just don’t know what you’ll see in PT. I was driving over the hill on Washington Street and saw this girl dressed up as a princess and riding her pony. A bit later they were at the Haller Fountain with some other young girls gathered around.

Marauding deer
Deer are pretty animals. Each year we see more and more of them. Tourists will often tie up traffic to stop and watch them. For locals they are mostly pests. Notice the fence around the yard these critters are passing. Almost any serious gardener in town has to fence deer out or risk losing valuable plants.

Walking on the beach at Fort Worden
The last few days have been lovely. Unusually mild temperatures combined with light breezes and intermittent sunshine have made getting out for an afternoon walk very pleasant. Here we see people enjoying the beach between the Port Townsend Marine Science Center and Point Wilson Lighthouse.

Downed Street Sign
The wind howled all night, whistling around the house, continually shaking the gate to our yard. In the morning, neighbors’ trash littered our landscape. There were the expected scattered power outages around the county. Then there’s this. The street sign on the corner of 29th and Holcomb has been leaning because of prior wind storms. Last night it broke. Now that’s wind.

Getting an old car onto a tow trailer.
Just a couple days after going out to photograph some old vehicles in the area, someone came to pick one up. The old car started, then belched smoke and quit moving. Several neighbors had to go out and push the thing onto the trailer so it could be hauled away.
