Photos of My Port Townsend

The twin hulled oil tanker Polar Endeavor is currently docked in Port Angeles, about an hour west of Port Townsend. I took the photo as much because of the sky as anything. Click photo for larger view.

Saturday may have been one of the last clear dawns of the year. Certainly, it’s been wet and windy since. As you may have noticed, when the mornings are calm, I often head to Port Townsend’s Boat Haven for reflection photos. Click photo for larger view.

We have been blessed with some lovely days this week. The forecast had been for clouds and showers but Wednesday and Thursday both dawned clear and cold. Every once in a while the seaweed blows in on storm winds then gets carried back out into Port Townsend Bay on high tide. I never would have thought that the slimy green stuff could make an interesting photo. Click photo for larger view.

Tuesday morning dawned clear and calm. It was my fourth consecutive daybreak photo shoot. I feel well rewarded with the opportunity for this picture.

Taking pictures of Point Hudson at sunrise is almost too easy. As dawn breaks over the Cascades it provides such lovely light, which gives the sky amazong color and all the white surfaces a soft glow Click photo for larger view.
