Coming in from a cold sail

The sun has been out the last few days. The sky is bright but temperatures are cold.

This thing is supposed to float

I’ve been watching this craft being constructed for several months now. It’s a floating boat. The concrete at the bottom of the craft is hollow and supposedly will keep the house floating. It doesn’t seem like this would work, but there’s a lot of money getting paid for the construction. I think that this is only technically a boat.

The oil tanker Polar Endeavor

The twin hulled oil tanker Polar Endeavor is currently docked in Port Angeles, about an hour west of Port Townsend. I took the photo as much because of the sky as anything.

Saturday may have been one of the last clear dawns of the year. Certainly, it’s been wet and windy since. As you may have noticed, when the mornings are calm, I often head to Port Townsend’s Boat Haven for reflection photos.

Dawn at the Boat Haven

We have been blessed with some lovely days this week. The forecast had been for clouds and showers but Wednesday and Thursday both dawned clear and cold. In this photo, we see a couple of chilly boaters coming in from a night on their boat moored at Port Townsend’s Boat Haven.
