I’ve realized that I’m not much of a journalist. I went downtown to photograph a Concerts on the Dock performance of the Delta Rays. I did enjoy the music but when it came to posting a photo, I had to put up the better picture, rather than the one that recorded the concert. BTW, the boat is named Martha. Okay, now I’m feeling guilty. Here’s a shot of the Delta Rays, too.

Cleaning the Boat

Boats are romantic. Some boats, especially sailboats are beautiful. The sad truth is that boats are a lot of work. Here we see a fellow hosing down his boat in Point Hudson Marina. In the background is the Northwest Maritime Center.
Last evening the Center opened its first juried photography show, On The Water: An Exhibition of Maritime Photography. I didn’t win any prizes but did get two photos into the show, Moon Over Maritime Center and Chinook. I’m excited, as this is the first time I’ve ever entered a juried show.

Moonlit Boat Haven

It was a beautiful and calm night. The moon was out. As I do, I went down to the Boat Haven to shoot yet another reflection of the boats with the moon.

Moored in the Fog

It’s been a pretty foggy summer, at least the mornings have been. One of the side effects of fog is to give scenes like this a great sense of distance. I feel like I’m looking at something very far away.
