Paragliding

You can either complain about the wind in Port Townsend or you can take advantage of it, like this guy did. With whitecaps marching across the Bay the wind piled up agains the bluffs above Larry Scott Trail creating a nice uplift for gliding recreation.

Wind and Wave

Sometime around 0: dark30, Saturday morning, the wind came storming in. It blew hard, blow down trees hard. I know because the power was out. At noon, the wind still battered Larry Scott Trail, requiring me to brace against it as I walked.

During the winter, low tide mostly happens during the night. For the last few days it’s occurred in the afternoon. What better way to celebrate some sunshine than by taking a walk on the tidal flats.

And There is Light

While we mostly have overcast this time of year, occasionally the sun does break through to illuminate Port Townsend. This snag sits atop the bluff above Larry Scott Trail.

Reflecting on December Skies

Mid-day light isn’t what you’d call overly bright. Still it’s nice to see the sun come out over Port Townsend Bay. Puddles tell the story of recent rain.
