The School of Athens lecture series is held each fall and winter in the Rose Theatre in downtown Port Townsend. January’s lecture was on Energy and the Hydrogen economy. Unfortunately my shots of the actual speaker, Dr.David Sanborn Scott, author of Smelling Land: The Hydrogen Defense Against Climate Catastrophe were too fuzzy. This is the person introducing him. Below is a shot of Dr. Scott from his climate change video on Vimeo.

What’s Wrong With My Plant?
Author: michaelDec 12
Mike of Henery’s Garden Center joins local authors David Deardorff and Kathryn Wadsworth at a signing for their new book, What’s Wrong With My Plant? (And How Do I Fix It?): A Visual Guide to Easy Diagnosis and Organic Remedies, from Timber Press.
This is a blatant plug. David, who has a Ph.D. in botany, was an extension agent when I took my Master Gardner training, and not only knows plants but is an excellent communicator. David and Kathryn are great people and have written a special book that all gardeners should take a look at.
I have to say that Henery’s did a nice job with the event.

Kinetic Skulpture Race

Okay, so it’s another shot of the same basic subject. This is taken from the Haller Fountain steps at the start of Sunday’s public movie.
Port Townsend Film Festival
Author: michaelSep 27
Every year the busiest side street in downtown Port Townsend gets taken over by the Port Townsend Film Festival. Here, workers are erecting an inflatable movie screen on Taylor Street in front of the Rose Theatre. The hay bales are seats for the outdoor movies shown each evening of the Festival.
