Construction on Port Townsend’s Water Street

I’ve been trying to ignore the construction Downtown. All of Taylor Street has been torn up, as have the sidewalks. Sidewalks on Water Street are also being replaced. It’s a mess. Add water and stir, it becomes a muddy mess. Happy May Day. Click photo for larger view.

It’s funny how something can be there for years and all of a sudden we see it. This sign on Tyler Street has been pointing to Washington Street for years. I vaguely remember noticing it once before. Then there it was.

This weekend is offering unusually good weather. Temperatures should be in the high 40s, and the sun will be shining. That’s the Fountain Cafe in the foreground.

The last couple of weekend have had holiday shoppers, bargain hunters and tourists  doing the Water Street bustle.
