Confusing signage on Water Street
The east end of Water Street has seen construction for most of this year as the city upgrades the street surface and sidewalks. To help us understand what’s what there are a few signs near the construction zone.
All businesses are open except for the one that’s closed. The sidewalk is closed ahead, so walk on the other side of the street. Except, stay on this side for the businesses that are open on this side. Is that all perfectly clear?

Reflections of two places
I was captivated by this reflection that looks at a Water Street Hotel and images of a tropical beach in a store display window.

Jefferson County Courthouse at sunset
I took this photos a couple of weeks ago. In my spare time, I used Photoshop to remove the power lines and poles.

Poppies in the Namura field
Collective nouns for groups of birds can be quite fun. A peep of chickens, a siege of herons, a covert of coots; they’re all quite proper descriptions of bunches of birds. Why can we not have a passion of poppies? These are in the Namura’s field on the corner of San Juan and Discovery.

Glowing clouds behind Jefferson County Courthouse
Last evening offered up one of the most intense and colorful skies I’ve ever seen. I wish that I’d have taken my bigger camera to capture the light but being on crutches for the next week or two makes that a bit difficult. So the new Canon S90 proved its worth by capturing this shot of the Jefferson County Courthouse.

Rainbow over Happy Valley, Port Townsend, WA
April says goodbye with another rain shower. This one opened up for just a few minutes and deposited a rainbow over Happy Valley, the low section between Port Townsend’s two main hilly areas.

Night view of the Jefferson County, WA Courthouse
The Jefferson County Courthouse is one of the iconic buildings in Port Townsend. It’s certainly one of the most photographed. I keep trying to come up with a different image than the standard tourist shot.
