Hard at work

I’m getting back to my writing. I’ve left it on hold for too many months. This photo is for my own inspiration. The fellow is writing in the Undertown Coffee and Wine Bar, one of Port Townsend’s best places to write over a cuppa.

Afternoon glow on Washington Street

This weekend is offering unusually good weather. Temperatures should be in the high 40s, and the sun will be shining. That’s the Fountain Cafe in the foreground.

Morning Deliveries

There are no alleys for delivery trucks to access Downtown Port Townsend, so the trucks park in the middle of Water Street. This photo was taken just before the stores opened.

Moving the gallery

One of Port Townsend’s more interesting pastimes is watching the Downtown businesses play musical chairs with their storefronts. There are a couple of businesses that have lived in at least three locations. The gallery, Artisans on Taylor is one of the latest participant in the game. It moved from Taylor Street to Water Street last fall. In this photo you see the staff getting ready for this month’s gallery walk, which occurs this Saturday.

After the holiday crowds.

The last couple of weekend have had holiday shoppers, bargain hunters and tourists  doing the Water Street bustle. Now, it’s back to sleepy streets and people hustling between buildings and cars, doing their best to minimize exposure to the wind and rain. As you can see, Downtown Port Townsend is pretty empty.
