My Port Townsend – A City in Photographs

Entries for August, 2010

Moon Field

This is an experiment in light painting. That is, I set the exposure for the sky and used a flashlight (torch) to “paint” light on the rocks and wood pile in the foreground. This technique often uses colored lights but I didn’t like the weird effect of red or green rocks.

Not a Band Photo

I’ve realized that I’m not much of a journalist. I went downtown to photograph a Concerts on the Dock performance of the Delta Rays. I did enjoy the music but when it came to posting a photo, I had to put up the better picture, rather than the one that recorded the concert. BTW, the [...]

Crocosmia

I was struck by the nice arch that the stem formed. The flowers are Crocosmia, originally native to South Africa. For scale, the longest blossom [...]

Confusion on Water Street

The Stillness of Night

An hour of stillness, a boat moored, a photograph. Night rests in peace in the Boat Haven. For more reflections, visit Newton Area Photo.

Kayaking Port Townsend Bay

Warm August days got you down? Get out on the water. Our 50 degree water will cool you down. The guy in back is cheating. Since she’s not looking he’ll let her paddle. A Watery Wednesday photo.
