My Port Townsend – A City in Photographs

Entries for February, 2010

New Buds

Some flowering trees are already blooming, and trees that normally leaf out in April are beginning to show buds, like this Raywood ash tree.

Bayview Restaurant

In a town of 8,000 there are an amazing 56 restaurants listed for Port Townsend in dexknows.com. Of those, there are surprisingly few old fashioned diners. One such is the Bayview Restaurant. While its food is ordinary, the view it offers is stunning, located as it is, on the breakwater above Port Townsend Bay.

Eagle Flight

There are a couple of bald eagles that spend a lot of time around the Larry Scott Trail. This one was kind enough to glide low enough along the bluff to photograph.

Ice Water

These pitchers have nothing to do with Port Townsend. I just like the shape and the texture of the water drops on their sides. There’s also the fact that they remind me of the old Kool-Aid ads. I didn’t realize that there were actual pitchers with this shape until I saw these.

Crocus

With the mild winter, flowers are blooming early. Our daffodils are coming up and the crocuses are already in bloom.

Foggy Fort Worden Forest

Not much to say about this. I just love fog.

Winter Garden

Flowers are lovely, but Port Townsend is home to an amazing number of very good gardeners who plant gardens that are interesting year round.
