Snowberries

Snowberries at the Park and Ride

The Snowberry is a native plant that grows with or near our wild roses. The waxy white berries offer a nice contrast to the orange red of rose hips. Birds eat snowberries, though it seems to be a least favorite food, as they don’t get around to the berries until late winter or early spring when other foods have been depleted. The berries are poisonous to people.
