Here are my favorite photos of the year. A couple were not published on the blog, as they were taken the same day as ones I did post.
The Glacier Spirit, run by Puget Sound Express, takes tours to the San Juan Islands and runs occasional charters to Protection Island. It’s in Point Hudson for this photo.
I was lucky to even see this bird. The evening was actually darker than the photo and I was focused on taking pictures of Point Hudson, which was on the other side of the dock. Fortunately the bird stood still for the 15 seconds the exposure took.
This slough (rhymes with tough), or small landslide, on the bluff above the Larry Scott Trail reminds us that the cliffs around Port Townsend are not made of rock but of highly compacted silt.
