Jefferson County Library

The perfect place to be on a wet, blustery day, the library

The perfect place to be on a wet, blustery day, the library

Port Townsend Library has the highest use per capita in Washington State.  That’s a real credit to the city. However, it also means that the city library is often crowded and new books fly off the shelves. It’s often more comfortable to spend time at the Jefferson Country Library in Port Hadlock. I don’t get there that often, but when I need to go out to the county, I try to include a stop.

The two libraries share inventory, allowing us to request a book through either location or online for pickup at either.

Finally, a clear night to take moon photos. This was shot from the Sculpture Garden behind Port Townsend Gallery.

Watching the rain

I had intended to do some food shots of turkey dinner, but things didn’t go as planned. Thanksgiving dinner came out well after an unexpected turn left me behind, and running to get the food ready for our guests. So no table or food photos this year.

Here’s Mr. Lilly looking out the kitchen window early Thursday morning. The day dawned wet but got quite pleasant in the afternoon, with only an occasional sprinkle and best of all, no wind.

Each fall the Canada Geese come down from the north to take up residence at the Port Townsend Golf Club. They don’t arrive in the numbers that cause problems in some Seattle areas, but there do seem to be more each year.

Late, each Tuesday afternoon, several regulars meet at Elevated Ice Cream for some friendly games of chess.

Windy Day

I’ve been featuring the rain, but with every storm we also get wind. Strong wind.
