Every time I go the the hardware store I stop and look over this board. I don’t remember ever calling anybody because of what I saw, but there’s always the hope that there will be something wonderful.

Formerly the Magic Bus, this Kinetic Sculpture lives just down the hill from me. The crew is in training for the Great Port Townsend Bay Kinetic Sculpture Race, October 3-4.
A Kinetic sculpture race is an organized contest of human-powered amphibious all-terrain works of art. The original event, the Kinetic Grand Championship in Humboldt County, California, is also called the “Triathlon of the Art World” because art and engineering are combined with physical endurance during a three day cross country race that includes sand, mud, pavement, a bay crossing, a river crossing and major hills.

Discovery Bay

Defining the western edge of the Quimper Peninsula is Discovery Bay. Here we see part of an old farm that overlooks the bay. There was a grass fire near here that I couldn’t get to as the highway was closed.
