My Port Townsend – A City in Photographs

Entries for August, 2009

Barrel Racing

Had a great time at the Jefferson County Fair (WA). The highlight was watching the barrel racing. View the photo set on Flickr.

Misty Trail

Walking back to the Boat Haven on the Larry Scott Trail, the light was so soft. The sky was lightening behind me and gave everything a glow.

Fake Lighthouse

This is not a real lighthouse, though the local nautical charts include it as a landmark. It sits on the bluff between Washington and Sims Way. I took the photo as an excuse to shoot the dramatic clouds. The building seemed a good foreground subject.

Sunset over Port Hadlock Bay

The Tides Inn

Expanded and renovated since the movie, this motel was featured in “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

Rainy Bay

Our first soaking rain in a couple of months lightened to a gentle mist. Still, the boaters had to be pretty damp.

Leafwings

A silhouette of the iron sculpture, Leafwings on the Larry Scott Trail. It was created by the late Russell Jacqua
