My Port Townsend – A City in Photographs

Entries for August, 2009

Moon Over Hastings

The moon is coming back, and hung over this farm just after sunset. Happy birthday, Mom. This one’s for you.

Uptown Street Fair

These ladies were simply having too much fun. They were doing an exercise form called Nea NEA, taught locally by the Madrona Mind Body Institute. More photos of the Uptown Street Fair are available on Flickr.

Audrey’s Electric Bike

Audrey rode her electric, motor-assist bicycle into town from out on Hastings. A couple of people stopped and asked her about it, making her quite the green spokesperson. I even got to ride it: fun.

Marine Science Center

The Port Townsend Marine Science Center occupies two buildings in Fort Worden State Park. The one on the pier is the Marine Exhibits building. It hosts exhibits displaying a  variety of intertidal plants and animals indigenous to Puget Sound.

Point Wilson Sunrise

Couldn’t sleep past 5 this morning so went out to catch the sunrise in Fort Worden State Park. That’s Point Wilson Lighthouse in the distance.

My Back Porch

We were coming back home about 9:30 and I ran back to the car to get the camera and tripod. The porch lights just grabbed my attention.

Mud Racing

County fairs, especially mostly rural counties like Jefferson are not about sophisticated. All afternoon on Sunday drivers like these ran through pits of mud. The truck on the right won this heat.
